HENRICO COUNTY, Va. There is good news for Short Pumps residents excited for the arrival of Wegmans, the countdown has officially began.
Construction of the New York-based grocery chain is set to begin Monday at the West Broad Marketplace.
West Broad Marketplace is located at 12300 West Broad St., just down the street from Short Pump Town Center. Wegmans’ said the Short Pump store will have 550 full- and part-time employees, and the vast majority will be hired locally.

West Broad Marketplace features 400,000 square feet of mixed-use retail space. The marketplace will also include Cabela’s which broke ground in April.
West Broad Marketplace is projected to open this Fall. The opening date for the Short Pump Wegmans is now tentatively planned for June 2016.
