RICHMOND, Va. -- One of the people shot Monday morning in the 3400 block of Walmsley Boulevard has died, according to police sources. Richmond Police, EMS and the fire department responded to reports of a shooting in South Richmond. Two people were initially reported injured in the shooting.
Neighbors on scene said an argument provoked the shooting. Those witnesses said more than 14 gunshots were fired.
While one person has life-threatening injuries, and later died, the other victim was expected to recover.
Neighbors in the apartment complex said gun violence continues to be a big problem for the apartment complex. Just last month, Richmond Police did a walk-through of the neighborhood, talking with residents. Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham said people have got to cooperate to put a stop to the crimes and gunfire.
Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
