RICHMOND, Va. – Six people were rescued from the James River Saturday night.
Richmond Fire spokesman Lt. Armstrong said crews were called at 8:20 p.m. after four people were tossed from a raft coming down Hollywood Rapids.
When firefighters arrived at 8:24 p.m., they spotted the victims stranded on the rocks.
A nearby kayaker was able to bring one of the people to shore. Fire crews brought the remaining three victims back to land.
Two more people were also helped out of the river by firefighters.
The only injury reported was a twisted ankle.
