CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Timothy Alan Pearson, Jr., 23, has been charged with arson after a Friday night house fire.

The Chesterfield County Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded late Friday, July 17, at 11:52 p.m. to 10300 block of Elokomin Ave for the report of a house fire.

Before firefighters arrived, a responding police officer pulled a man from a ground floor window. He was not injured, according to officials.

The fire took approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control.  Fire damage was contained to one room of the house but it did sustain smoke damage, according to Chesterfield Fire and EMS spokesman Lt. Jason Elmore.

Fire Marshals and Police worked collaboratively on the investigation and determined the cause of the fire to be arson.

Pearson, of Chesterfield, was arrested and charged with arson. He is currently being held at the Chesterfield County Jail pending a bond hearing.
