RICHMOND, Va. -- Tuesday is a severe weather alert day. The "Slight Risk" for severe weather issued Monday continues to stand Tuesday.
We will see sunshine, warming the environment and making us unstable with high temperatures in the lower 90s. We are looking to see severe weather starting around rush hour when storms develop to the west of Interstate 95 and move eastward.
The storms will mature quickly, so stay on guard.
The main weather threats include wind gusts 50 mph+, large hail, cloud to ground lightning, localized heavy rainfall (which could cause flash flooding), and an isolated tornado.
