RICHMOND, Va. -- Some children got a sweet treat for free over the holiday weekend thanks to police officers from the city's third precinct.
Sergeants Robert Fleming and Christopher Jernigan, and Officers Travis Dooley and Stephen Sales drove through neighborhoods handing out free ice cream to children, according to a post on the Richmond Police Department's Facebook page.
The department thanked the officers and Helen from the Baskin Robbins on Forest Hill Avenue who donated the ice cream for making the Forth of July holiday "festive and tasty for many children."
