GOOCHLAND, Va. — The most expensive residential listing in Richmond just got more affordable. River Run Manor, a 60-acre estate in eastern Goochland County, has been reduced in price by more than $1 million, from its initial asking price of $7.9 million to its current price tag of $6.8 million.
Built for a member of Richmond’s Massey family, the nearly 16,000-square-foot mansion was listed for sale last October by Richard Bower of Joyner Fine Properties. It isn’t clear exactly when the price was reduced. Bower did not return messages seeking comment.
Despite the reduction, the property remains the highest priced home for sale in the Richmond market, according to a list compiled by the lower price tag appeared in alist compiled by BizSense late last month.
The property was built in the mid-1980s by William B. Massey, a longtime Richmond coal executive whose grandfather founded A.T. Massey Coal Co., more recently known as Massey Energy.
