CHESTERFIELD COUNTY -- A motor vehicle was set on fire in a Midlothian neighborhood around 5 a.m. Sunday, according to a Chesterfield County police incident report. A car was burned in Williams Gwyn Estates in the 2900 block of Speeks Dr., according to the report.

In addition, five other vehicles were vandalized and had items taken from them, according to neighbors. The report also said the unknown suspect entered the garage at the residence through a side door.

Timothy Garner said he woke up Sunday morning to flames shooting out of his car and firefighters in his driveway trying to get the fire under control. He said all of it happened just a few feet away from his newborn son's bedroom.

"We have been here five or six years and have never had any problems, but now all of a sudden, teenagers around here are going into our yards and acting a fool," Garner said.

He said a gas can was left in his yard as well as some of his neighbors' yards. Police are still searching for a suspect.
