RICHMOND, Va. -- When no one called to claim the $600 gift card WTVR CBS 6 gave away Thursday morning, Friday's prize rolled over to $1,200. Friday's winner Elizabeth Brooks wasted no time calling in to claim her prize.
When Brooks arrived at the WTVR CBS 6 studio Monday, morning anchor Rob Cardwell planned to surprise her with the gift cards. But in the end, it was Brooks doing the surprising when she told Rob what she planned on doing with her winnings.
"We're going to give some to the Richmond homeless," Brooks said after she received the cards.
She said she would spend the remainder on her grandchildren.
