RICHMOND, Va. – The US Marshals Service has added the suspect in a Richmond hotel murder to its “15 Most Wanted Fugitives” list.

Richmond police charged 19-year-old J’Wa Charlery with murder after they found the body of Eboniece Escobar at the Clarion Hotel on Boulevard in November of 2014.

While US Marshals said they do not know where Charlery is now, they said he fled to The Virgin Islands after the crime. Officials said Charlery also has ties to Norfolk and Miami.

“The malicious crime allegedly committed by Charlery demonstrates a blatant disregard for life,” said U.S. Marshals Service Director Stacia Hylton. “His potential for continued violence puts the public at great risk every day he remains on the run.”

Charlery is described as a black male six feet tall and weighing 160 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.

"[Charlery] is a member of a criminal organization allegedly responsible for major narcotics trafficking and acts of violence in the Virgin Islands. He is well-known in the U.S. Virgin Islands by the nickname 'Balla,'” officials said.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Charlery's arrest.

If you have information that could help investigators, call the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 800-336-0102.
