RICHMOND, Va. -- WTVR CBS 6 is proud to announce our team of journalists was awarded 10 Emmy Awards by The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

WTVR was honored with Emmys in the following categories during a special ceremony Saturday night:

The REAL program provides inmates with job training.

WTVR was nominated for the most Emmys of any station in Central Virginia. The South's First Television Station tied for second most in the region, which includes Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

"I'm thrilled that my colleagues and I here at WTVR CBS 6 were able to garner 22 Emmy nominations," anchor-reporter Greg McQuade, a multiple Emmy Award winner, said. "I think it demonstrates the high quality of work we produce day in and day out at WTVR. It is always a distinct honor being recognized by your peers in the broadcasting industry."
