OUTER BANKS, N.C. — On Friday, a shark attack was reported in the Outer Banks, the fourth in a recent rash of shark-bite incidents along the North Carolina coast.

The attack happened near Avon Pier, according to Twitter user Mike Will. Avon is located on Hatteras Island.

Johnny Supan shared video taken minutes after the attack.

The victim is age 47. He was in the water with three kids and an adult. He told WTKR that he actually saw the shark and was getting everyone out of the water when he was bitten.

He's asked the hospital to not release any information, including his name or condition.

The injuries were minimal.

“I didn’t see it coming,” Hunter Treschl said from his bed at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

On June 14, a 12-year-old girl from Archdale and a 16-year-old boy from Colorado both lost their arms in shark attacks at Oak Island. The attacks were just hours apart, a very rare incident.

On June 24, an 8-year-old boy suffered what appeared to be a shark bite at Surf City.
