3 Confirmed Tornadoes in the Northern Neck

The National Weather Service survey team released their report this evening confirming that 3 EF-0 tornadoes touched down in the counties of Richmond and Lancaster last night.

The first tornado occurred from 8:53 PM until 9:08 PM, tracking from southeast of Newland to Naylors Beach and then across Route 360.  Maximum winds were 70 to 80 mph, with a path width of 100 yards, and the tornado was on the ground for 6 miles.

The second tornado occurred from 9:28 PM to 9:38 PM, tracking just north-northeast of Sharps.  Maximum winds were 70 mph, with a path width of 50 yards, and the tornado was on the ground for 3.5 to 4 miles.

The third tornado occurred from 9:51 PM to 10:06 PM, tracking from Mollusk to Ottoman.  Maximum winds were 60 to 70 mph, with a path width of 50 yards, and the tornado was on the ground for 4 miles.
