RICHMOND, Va. -- A burning cigarette sparked Monday afternoon's apartment fire along the 3400 block of Stuart Avenue in Richmond's Museum District. Richmond Fire Marshal David Creasy said someone put the cigarette in a paper cup and not an ashtray. The fire damaged two units. No injuries were reported in the fire.
It doesn’t take much for a cigarette butt to ignite a fire when it is dry and windy outside, Creasy added.
