Police working armed robbery at popular Richmond BBQ restaurant

RICHMOND, Va. – Police are investigating a Sunday night armed robbery at a BBQ restaurant in Richmond.

The armed robbery happened at the Dickey's Barbecue in the Shops at Stratford Hills shopping plaza off Forest Hill Avenue, according to law enforcement sources.  Richmond Police have not released much information on the suspects.

"Me and my manger were leaving out the back door," a man who reached out to WTVR CBS 6 claiming to be the robbery victim said. "As soon as we got to the car a black male jumped out the bushes with a gun and told us to give him money. We told him we didn't have any money. Then he told us to go back inside Dickey's and asked us were is the safe and was rushing us to get it. After that he left out back."

The man did not indicate whether anyone was hurt. Anyone with information about this crime can call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
