RICHMOND, Va -- Firefighters were on the scene of a house fire on the city's Northside early Tuesday morning. The fire broke at a home in the 1900 block of Seddon Road at around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters arrived to heavy flames and smoke pouring from the house.

The home's owner said she woke up after the power went out in the home. She then found smoke coming from the attic door. She was able to get out of the house with two dogs and one of her cats.

Investigators were working to determine if a storm moving through the area may have sparked the fire.
