HENRICO, Va. – A box truck hit the back of a GRTC bus around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The accident happened on Laburnum Avenue, at Mechanicsville Turnpike, in front of the Wendy’s. The bus was the Route 91 Laburnum Connector, heading westbound.
Five people on the bus, including the driver, were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating.
“GRTC will conduct our own internal investigation as well, as is protocol after any incident,” said spokesperson Carrie Rose Pace. “On-board security cameras captured audio and visual of the accident, both inside of and outside of the bus. These cameras are often crucial in providing details for the accident investigation, both for GRTC and the local authorities.”
