RICHMOND, Va. -- The 2015 Bike MS Ride started Saturday and our WTVR CBS 6 team was out pedaling to raise money. Our colleague Eric Lee alongside anchors Bill Fitzgerald, Rob Desir and 10 other co-workers worked hard to raise money to battle Multiple sclerosis.
Thousands of bikers started early Saturday morning at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center for the 75-mile haul, all to help make a difference in the lives of people affected by the disease.
"This is such an exciting opportunity for us to raise some really important money to put an end to this disease, and to put local services and programs together for those living with MS," Sherri Ellis, president of the Virginia National M.S. Chapter Society, said.
According to the Bike MS website, nearly $295,000 has been raised.
