RICHMOND, Va. -- The remnants of Tropical Storm Ana will track southeast of Richmond on Monday, bringing a better chance for some showers and storms the first half of the day, especially east and southeast of Richmond. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s, but temps will be cooler near the coast. More sunshine will be found across western Virginia, where some highs in the mid to upper 80s will occur. The moisture from Ana will exit Monday night.

The hottest day of the year thus far will be on Tuesday as highs hit around 90°. We will see a mix of clouds and sunshine, but there will be some scattered storms possible late in the afternoon as a cold front moves through the state. A couple of the storms could produce strong wind gusts, mostly across far southeastern Virginia.
