GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A man is out of jail on bond after being arrested for posing as a doctor and sexually assaulting a victim at a residence in Gainesville.

Police say 48-year-old Jamieson Leland Allen asked the victim, a 19-year-old man, to help him move furniture at the residence.

WGCL reports that Allen told the man that he was a doctor and performed a medical exam on him. Investigators said that during the exam, a non-consensual sexual encounter ensued. The victim later went to the emergency room at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The incident happened March 28.

Allen is a medical professional and was once employed by Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He is a registered nurse.

Allen could not be reached for comment, and his attorney declined to speak about the case.

Allen was taken into custody and is charged with Aggravated Sodomy, Sodomy, Sexual Battery and Practicing Without a Medical License.

He posted bond and was released from jail. He is due back in court May 26.
