RICHMOND, Va. -- A Henrico mother will stand before a federal judge Monday morning to be sentenced for her alleged ties to ISIS. Heather Coffman was detained by US Marshals in November when police raided her western Henrico home. In February, Coffman pleaded guilty to lying to federal agents about her involvement with the terrorist group, ISIS.

WTVR CBS 6 legal analyst Todd Stone explained that lie will play a significant role in sentencing.
"Normally, it is a five year maximum sentence for lying to a federal agent, but if it is involving terrorism it is an 8 year maximum sentence," Stone said.
Coffman's family wrote letters to the judge about her character describing her as loving, saying she would do anything to anybody.
Stone said the letters are important, "because they help the judge to see who Coffman is and another side of her that the judge would not otherwise see."
Coffman is facing a maximum of eight years in federal prison.
