CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Nearly one year after she was reported missing, DNA analysis has confirmed a body found March 11 in a Rodman Road alley, off Midlothian Turnpike in South Richmond, was that of 28-year-old Ogechi Sarah Uwasomba. There does not appear to be any foul play associated with her death, according to Richmond Police.

"The exact cause and manner of Owasomba’s death will be determined by the Medical Examiner, once the autopsy report is complete," Richmond Police spokesman Gene Lepley wrote in an email. "The Richmond Police Department would like to thank the Chesterfield Police Department for its assistance in this investigation."

Owasomba’s mother, Catherine Uwasomba, reported her daughter missing on June 7, 2014.

"I hurt, I cry, I’ve been weeping," Uwasomba said at November 2014 vigil for her daughter. "It’s like I’m being tortured."

This is a developing story.
