CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Police released photos of a man they said cut the Muscular Dystrophy Association donation box off a 7-Eleven counter in Chesterfield and walked off. Police did not say how much money was in the box when the crime occurred March 18, at about 2 a.m., at the 7-Eleven in the 9700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

“After walking through the store, the man approached the clerk at the cash register. He made conversation with the clerk and waited for her to turn around. Once she did so, the thief cut the cable connecting the Muscular Dystrophy Association donation box to the counter. He then stuffed it under his shirt and exited the store,” a spokesman for Chesterfield Crime Solvers wrote in an email. “The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion who was about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.”

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect was asked to call Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
