HARTFORD — Packages of cookies sold in several states are being voluntarily recalled for undeclared allergens. Silver Lake brand Easter Egg Cookies are made with egg, but the allergen is not listed on the label.

“For people who have an allergy or a severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these cookies,” a statement from the FDA said. “Customers with an egg allergy who have purchased the affected product should dispose of it.”

The cookies are safe to eat for people who do not have egg allergies. The cookies were sold in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Georgia, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Indiana. Customers with questions can call Silver Lake Cookie Company at 1-800-645-9048 x263, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.  until 5 p.m.
