More than 1500 High School students are going head to head in the “First Robotics Competition.”  It’s not the first competition, instead, First is an acronym that means “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.  Out of 64 high school teams competing 19 are from the Richmond area. The event is Friday & Saturday from 9am – 5pm at VCU’s Siegel Center, 1200 West Broad Street and is free and open to the public. For more details visit http://www.virginiafirst.org.

Saint Patrick’s Day is over but the celebration continues this weekend in Church Hill, The Church Hill Irish Festival is Saturday 10am – 7pm and Sunday 10am – 6pm on North 24th Streets between East Grace and East Marshall Streets. Music will once again fill the air and food available for purchase. You can still volunteer to have your head shaved in support of St. Baldrick’s Foundation, helping to find a cure for childhood cancers. Admission is $5 for more information call 804-356-1093.
