SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. -- She died trying to save her grandmother's life and now Roanna Hill will be remembered as a hero.

The 12-year-old has been nominated for a Carnegie Hero Fund Commission Medal. The sixth grader's Spotsylvania home caught fire back in January.

She was able to get out, but went back inside the burning home to try and rescue her grandmother.

Neither of them survived.

The Carnegie Medal is given to those who risk their lives for others.
