COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. -- The body recovered from Swift Creek in Colonial Heights earlier this month is that of a 30-year-old man who vanished on Christmas Eve.

Colonial Heights police said that John Pratsinak's body was discovered as a Virginia State Police Dive Team trained on Swift Creek near the White Bank Boat Ramp on Feb. 10.

The area where the body was found was the same area crews searched in December and January for a missing Colonial Heights man. On Dec. 27, CBS 6 senior reporter Wayne Covil spent the day on Swift Creek with Colonial Heights Fire crews searching for Pratsinak.

Pratsinak as last seen leaving his Conjurers Drive home on Christmas Eve.

Police said the State Medical Examiner's Office ruled Pratsinak's cause of death as accidental drowning.
