Police chase ends in crash in Richmond’s Battery Park

RICHMOND, Va. – Two people were hospitalized with minor injuries after a car chase ended in a crash in Richmond’s Battery Park Monday evening. Henrico Police said they began chasing a Ford Explorer across the county line into the city just after 5:30 p.m. The chase ended when the driver hit another car on Overbrook Road and Miller Avenue. Police said the suspect and that driver were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police were first alerted to the suspect after a robbery along the 3300 block of Deep Rock Road.

"The victims were approached by two black males, with one being armed with a weapon," a Henrico Police spokesman said. "The suspects took currency, property, and one of the victims vehicle and fled in an unknown direction.  An involved vehicle was located inside Richmond City where a pursuit ensued which ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into another vehicle."

No charges have been placed at this time.
