CORCORAN, Calif. — Time is running out for 80-year-old convicted murderer Charles Manson to get married. The inmate’s 90-day marriage license with 27-year-old Afton Elaine Burton, who goes by the name “Star,” is set to expire Thursday. Chances are they won’t tie the knot before that deadline.

Manson is serving a life sentence in the California State Prison at Corcoran.  Inmate weddings are allowed at the facility during visiting hours on the weekend.

If the couple wanted to get married after Thursday, they would have to apply for another license.

In 1971, Manson was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders of seven people including actress Sharon Tate.  He has been denied parole a dozen times.  His next hearing is set for 2027.  He would be 92 years old.
