COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — Police in Colonial Heights have organized a vigil to “keep citizens aware” about a missing man. John Pratsinak, 30, was last seen leaving his Conjurers Drive home on Christmas Eve.

“The Colonial Heights Police Department will host a waterside candlelight vigil at White Bank Park to keep citizens aware of a missing person from our community,” the police department posted on Facebook. “Volunteers will be passing out pins and yellow ribbons for everyone to display as a sign of hope for his return.”

Pratsinak’s father said his son went to White Bank Park the day he disappeared to check the tide and look for fishing bait.

George Pratsinak fears he will never see his son again.

"I mean, there’s always hope, but three tracking dogs tracked to the dock, so we figured he fell in," Pratsinak said. "It’s harder than losing a parent."

George Pratsinak said his son may have suffered an adverse reaction to medication he was taking.

The vigil for John Pratsinak is Wednesday, January 28 at 6 p.m.
