Former Benedictine and VCU star Bradford Burgess will have his number 20 jersey retired by VCU on February 21st just before their game against UMass.  Burgess is 4th in school history with 1,684 points and helped lead the Rams to the Final Four in 2011.  He is just the fifth male in VCU history to have his jersey retired.

Number 11 Randolph-Macon beat 6th ranked Virginia Wesleyan 69-66 to stay unbeaten in the ODAC.  Marcus Badger hit a three-pointer with less than 30 seconds in the game that proved to be the game-winner.  Chris Hamilton led four Yellow Jackets players in double figures with 16 points.

The Flying Squirrels hosted their annual Hot Stove banquet at the Siegel Center and the guest of honor was Hall of Fame pitcher Gaylord Perry.  Perry played for several Major League teams but won a pennant with the Giants back in 1962.  Alongside Perry was new manager Jose Alguicil and pitching coach Steve Kline.
