RICHMOND, Va - Audrey Rowe, Administrator for the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, stopped by our studio to share some events she will be hosting to help increase access to healthy foods in Richmond and throughout Virginia. The highlight of her trip is the grand opening of Richmond’s 31st Street Baptist Church Farmers Market on January 15th. Audrey will also be leading a roundtable discussion with federal, state, and local organizations, as well as Richmond area schools to help connect them with USDA programs such as the Summer Food Service Program and the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act.
