CARLISLE, Penn. — Martin’s grocery stores have announced a voluntary recall involving MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burgers because the product may contain peanuts.

The product has been pulled from shelves as a precaution  because the burgers may contain peanuts, an allergen that is not listed as an ingredient.

The recall includes the following products:

  • MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burgers, 18.9 oz., UPC 2898971750, with a Better if Used Before Date of APR14 16 – JUN30 16
  • MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burgers, 9.5 oz., UPC 2898939207, with a Better if Used Before Date of APR14 16 – JUN30 16

“GIANT/MARTIN’S has received no reports of illnesses to date. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” officials said in a statement.

Customers who purchased the black bean burgers should throw away any unused portions and bring their receipt to the store for a refund.
