 – Several school systems in Virginia have already announced delayed school openings on Thursday, due to extreme temperature – with one school district actually closed.

By Wednesday night, with the wind chill factor, temperatures will plummet into the single-digit range. And Thursday morning, as kids head off to the school bus stops, temperatures in some counties will remain at zero, or possibly lower.

Similar frigid conditions at this time last year led to school closures.

As of Wednesday night, Henrico, Richmond, Hanover, Chesterfield and Petersburg plan to open at the normal time.

CBS 6 will continue to provide updates as school districts announce closures.
