RICHMOND, Va. -- The FBI is now offering a $15,000 reward for information that helps capture the so-called  "Oxycodone bandit" who has robbed several drugstores across the Commonwealth.

Investigators think one person is responsible for the robberies, which have occurred in Henrico, Hanover, Arlington, and Prince William; and the cities of Fredericksburg, Williamsburg, Hampton and Newport News .

The robber, who has targeted CVS and Rite-Aid drugstores,  approaches the pharmacy counter with a white cloth over his face and reveals a black handgun tucked in his waistband to the pharmacist. The suspect then demands Oxycodone pills and cash from the register before running from the store.

In some situations police said the suspect has gone behind the counter to grab Oxycodone, Percocet or Xanax pills himself, but has not always been successful.  In several of the robberies, the suspect was seen driving away in a light-colored Dodge Nitro SUV.

The most recent crime happened at the Rite Aid on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard in Newport News on Nov. 17. when the suspect walked into the store and approached the pharmacy counter demanding “oxy” from the pharmacist.
