PROVO, Utah -- A group in Utahhas broken the Guinness World Record for the largest Living Nativity scene.

Hundreds of volunteers showed up to Provo's Rock Canyon Park on Monday dressed in white to play the part of angels in the massive display.

In fact, The Daily Herald of Provo reports that 1,039 participants took part in the nativity. The previous record  in Lancashire in the UK in December of 2013 featured 898 people.

The live display had everything you would expect from a nativity, including Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, angels, shepherds and A LOT of angels.

But the main cast of characters was played by YouTube stars, who hope to make the video go viral and get seen by their millions of internet followers.

Internet sensation Stuart Edge, who is from Provo, played the part of a shepherd.

"The main reason why we're here is to make an awesome video, if we break the world record, then yeah!" he said. "I love getting involved in other things besides my own YouTube channel."

The complete show was recorded and will become a Christmas production that will be posted online just before Christmas.

Famous videographer Devin Supertramp, who is known around the world for his extreme videos, dialed it down a bit to film the nativity.

"It's a great way to bring focus to Christ and we wanted to spread that message as widely as possible," Supertramp said.

American Idol's David Archuleta recorded a track along with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to play along with the production.
