LOUISA COUNTY, Va. — Two women were flown via Med-Flight to VCU Medical Center after a head-on collision Monday morning on Route 33, near Whispering Pine Lane, in Louisa County.

Melissa A. Meagher, 43, of Mechanicsville and Robin Nash, 57, of Bumpass, suffered serious injuries, according to Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick. Police said Meagher’s 2005 Ford Escape crossed the double yellow line and hit Nash’s 2004 Ford Explorer.
