Many of the country’s largest retailers aren’t waiting for Thanksgiving to be over — or even for it to be Friday — to launch their Black Friday deals.

KMart is first with the door buster deals — its doors open at 6 a.m., so goodness knows when the line begins forming. A lot of stores will open Thursday evening, and many of these stores will remain open through Black Friday. There are three states – Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island which ban stores from opening on the holiday.

But some big names are closing up shop on Thursday, like Costco, which said its employees “deserve” the day off.

Giving employees a break, as well as a principled stance about the sanctity of Thanksgiving, are the primary arguments in favor of being closed. But nobody likes being left behind, so there will probably be more announcements in the coming weeks.

Who’s definitely closed on Thanksgiving Thursday:

  • A.C. Moore
  • Burlington Coat Factory
  • Costco
  • Dillards
  • Hobby Lobby
  • Home Depot
  • Home Goods
  • Ikea
  • GameStop
  • TJ Maxx
  • Sierra Trading Post
  • Saxon Shoes
  • Lowe’s
  • Neiman Marcus
  • Nordstrom
  • Petco
  • REI
  • Sephora
