Man steals medic’s laptop right off hospital stretcher

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are looking for the man who walked into Community Hospital in Richmond and stole a laptop off a stretcher. The laptop, a Panasonic Toughbook, belonged to the Richmond Ambulance Authority, according to Richmond Police.

Police released a photo of the man accused of the October 31 crime.

“The suspect is described as a black male, age 20 to 25, who was last seen wearing a green hoodie with black stars all over it, dark pants and a black, draw-string backpack with the logo ‘Jordan 23’ on it,” a Richmond Police spokeswoman wrote in an email. “Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to call First Precinct Detective A.G. Partain at (804) 646-1290 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.”

The Richmond Ambulance Authority said there was no patient information on the laptop and the information contained on the laptop was encrypted.
