Sources confirm what Andre Brown's Linkedin page says: that he's an officer at Virginia Union University.

According to an arrest report, the veteran police officer found himself on the wrong side of the law over the weekend.

The 35-year-old Brown is charged with brandishing a firearm and four counts of assault on law enforcement.

Chesterfield Police tell CBS 6 it stems from an incident at his Alderwood Way home in Chester Friday afternoon. Police say they were called to the house to check the welfare of a family member when Brown met officers at the door.

Police say he shut the door on them then quickly came back with a gun in his hand.

Chesterfield Police say he did not fire the weapon or point it at the officers.

One neighbor tells CBS 6 off-camera that he heard someone yell, ‘Get off my property!’ using a common barnyard epithet.

That Linkedin page says in addition to his job at VUU, Brown is also a sergeant first class in the Army national guard and former VCU police officer.

CBS 6 legal expert Todd Stone says if Brown is convicted of brandishing, that's up to a year in jail with a $2,500 fine and if convicted, each felony assault charge carries a minimum of six months in jail. Brown would also lose his right to carry a weapon.
