(CNN) — After nearly seven weeks on the run, suspected cop killer Eric Matthew Frein is in custody, Pennsylvania State Police spokeswoman Connie Devens said Thursday.

“I can confirm that we have taken Eric Frein into custody. Further information will be released at a later time. No further information will be released or confirmed at this time,” she said in an email to reporters.

Frein, 31, is suspected in the September 12 ambush shooting that left Cpl. Bryon Dickson dead and Trooper Alex T. Douglass wounded outside the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Blooming Grove.

The FBI had named him one of its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives.

Police have not spoken about a possible motive, other than that Frein has talked and written about hating law enforcement. Authorities have said a review of a computer hard drive used by Frein shows that he had planned the attack for years.

The manhunt involved as many as 1,000 officers at times, some from other states. It cost several million dollars.

Ahhh…another shining example of the innocent and non violent white man. I hope they treat him real nice at that police station…give him his day in court. Innocent until proven guilty…something must have really gone wrong in his life for him to do such a terrible thing. That’s just not normal for such a regular guy. Poor thing… ;(

It took them all this long to find this guy who killed a cop???? Let’s see if they’re gonna beat him like they did all of the other unarmed men. He murdered someone, he left all these clues and still couldn’t be found. Another crazy a$$ white man!!! They exist more than people want to realize!!

Fair trial, fair hanging. Shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes as we have squandered enough $ on him already.

I bet he is a real Einstein… planned the attack for months and got his car stuck during the getaway making himself the prim suspect within an hour of the shooting. too bad he can’t request leniency for stupidity.
