Crash closes Providence Road, knocks out power in Chesterfield

UPDATE: The road will remain closed until approximately 5 p.m. for cleanup, VDOT said.

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. —  A crash that knocked down power lines has closed all lanes of South Providence Road at Hicks Road in Chesterfield. Dominion Virginia Power reported more than 1,200 customers without power in metro-Richmond at 10:30 a.m.

A majority of those outages are in Chesterfield.

VDOT said the lanes would remain closed for cleanup and repairs until 3  p.m. Dominion is working to restore power.
