UPDATE: All travel lanes reopened to traffic at approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- The fiery tractor-trailer crash that closed all lanes of Interstate 95 North near the Lewiston Road exit (mile marker 89) in Hanover County early Tuesday morning is expected to impact the evening rush hour.

"The crash involved a tractor trailer that caught fire, which heavily damaged the northbound right and center lanes. Both lanes remain closed while crews complete cleanup and prepare the pavement for repairs," VDOT spokeswoman Jessica Cowardin said. "Crews are transitioning the crash scene to a work zone area, where the right and center northbound lanes are expected to remain closed while crews work to repair the roadway. The Lewistown Road ramps will remain open during repairs."

Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.

The crash happened at about 3:11 a.m.

"A 2004 Mack Tractor-trailer was in the right lane on I- 95 north when a black vehicle cut in front of the tractor-trailer causing it to run off the road to the right, strike a section of guard rail and a tree before overturning partially in the roadway and catching on fire," Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said. "The duel tandom trailers were loaded with various truck parts. There was no hazardous material spill; a ruptured fuel tank with about 200 gallons of diesel was contained."

No one was injured in the crash.
