‘Walk About’ at this inaugural Robinson Street event

RICHMOND, Va – A membership organization representing the Robinson Street District (who knew?!) will host a block party to celebrate the shops and restaurants along its namesake.

The event includes a temporary-re-opening of the RVA Street Art Festival Site.

The Robinson Street Association will host the four-hour”Robinson Street Side Walk About” on Saturday Oct. 18.

There will be  live music, sidewalk sales, crafts, food specials, art exhibits, children activities and an opportunity to check out the RVA Street Art Festival Site at the old GRTC Bus Depot.

Each business along Robinson Street will have special sales, deals or events at their locations. Some of the examples include vinyl records from Deep Groove, great vintage clothing finds from Halycon, antique treasures from Bohland and Graham, bargain finds from the Clothes Rack, art from both Hill Gallery and Stewart Gallery and many more.

robinson flyerIn addition to merchant offerings, Robinson Street’s restaurants will offer specials.

Bluegrass and country group The  Red Light Rodeo will perform  from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m., at 205 N. Robinson Street.

Dave Shiflett and Friends will playing acoustic originals. pop and jazz, from noon – 2 p.m., at the old GRTC Bus Depot.

For kids, U-Fab will be doing free fall-themed kids arts and crafts with fabrics and upholstery tacks at the old GRTC Bus Depot from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., all ages

welcome.

For one day only, the public will have access to all murals from the RVA Street Art Festival.

Robinson Street Association (RSA) is a membership organization comprised of homeowners, renters and business owners whose mission statement is to “help maintain the Robinson Street district as a safe and pleasant place to live and work; through the promotion of projects and programs that will enhance the community and the representation of its members to organizations and governments in efforts to enhance the community.”
