HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — The driver of a semi that overturned on the ramp from I-295 south to I-95 north in Henrico County Friday afternoon has been charged with reckless driving.

“A 2007 International Tractor-trailer was taking the ramp from I- 295 south bound to I- 95 north bound when it overturned onto the shoulder of the ramp. The truck was loaded with mulch,” Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick wrote in an email. “There was no hazardous material or fuel spill that had to be contained.”

As a result, the southbound exit ramp was closed around 3:15 p.m. for several hours while crews worked to right the truck.

A detour was in place as of 4:30 p.m. and officials told drivers to expect delays.

State police said 34-year-old Roderick L. Banks, of Richmond, was charged with reckless driving.

No one was injured in the accident.
