CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A California truck driver was charged with Reckless Driving after his tractor-trailer overturned on the Powhite Parkway ramp from Midlothian Turnpike Monday morning. The crash happened at about 8:05 a.m.
“A 2005 Freightliner Tractor-trailer was traveling east on Route 60, taking the ramp to north bound Route 76 when it over-turned towards the top of the ramp,” Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick wrote in an email. “Hung V. Le, 51, of San Jose California, was charged with Reckless Driving, he was wearing a seat belt; there were no injuries or property damage in the crash.”
Police said Le was speeding.
The truck was loaded with organic grapes, police said.
The crash closed the ramp for about two hours while crews off-loaded the grapes and up righted the truck.
