RICHMOND, Va. — Investigators are working to determine what started a fire Monday night at Little House Green Grocery on Bellevue Ave. in north Richmond. The fire, which burned the building’s roof, was reported at about 10:52 p.m. Crews brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes, Richmond Fire Lt. Chris Armstrong said.

“Thankfully no one was injured, and the damage to the store and our neighbors is fairly minor – smoke, water, and ceiling damage – our HVAC melted – typical fire stuff,” the Little House Green Grocery posted on its Facebook page. “Unfortunately, we’ll be closed while we clean and make repairs for the next few days. We’ll be updating our progress here as well as on Twitter and Instagram.”

Owners Erin and Jess said they “plan to make a lot of lemonade out of these lemons!”
