COLORADO — A woman involved in a horrible accident said she was looking down to check a text before sending it and it only looked away for a split second.

According to KUSA, Christina Jahnz hit a guardrail pole that went through the front of her truck. It pierced her thigh and buttocks and continued into the seat behind her.

Firefighters sawed off the front and back end of the pole to get her out.

“I was running late for a business meeting, so I did a voice text," Jahnz said. "I looked down to make sure it was all right."

"The next thing I knew, I was looking up," she said. "There was white powder from the air bags deployed.”

Jahnz said she’s truly a miracle. “They said if it [had] gone just a little bit the other way I would have bled out.”

She’s expected to make a full recovery.

Still, she said that it is "devastating knowing that I could have prevented it to begin with. "
