CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Chesterfield County Public Schools will open the new Chesterfield Career and Technical Center @ Hull when the 2014-15 school year begins Tuesday.

The county renovated the old Clover Hill High School on Hull Street to accommodate around 600 technical students because there was no more room at buildings were the popular classes were held previously.

Classes taught at Chesterfield Career and Technical Center @ Hull include information technology, baking, criminal justice, firefighting, construction, nursing and medicine.

The new center was designed to save the county money as it will also serve as a central location for school administration employees. The center will also be used as a community building to hold events.

Chesterfield County Schools has another technical center on Courthouse Road.
