NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Tex. — The father of Texas teen who was sentenced to 10 years of probation and no prison time after killing four and seriously injuring two others while driving drunk in Burleson?

Ethan Couch got off after his lawyer claimed he was suffering from “affluenza” or not being able to understand consequences because he comes from a privileged family.

KDAF reports the North Richland Hills Police Department arrested Ethan’s dad, Fredrick Couch, on Tuesday. Police charged him with impersonating a cop and misrepresentation of property. Investigators say he claimed to be a Lakeside Police Officer after a disturbance was reported.

“They also asked him if he had any weapons in his vehicle and he said he had his police stuff in his vehicle… He went back to his vehicle and grabbed a wallet containing a badge and an identification card which suggested he was a police officer,” said Keith Bauman, Investigator at the North Richland Hills Police Department.

But something didn’t seem right, so, the North Richland cops took a further look and determined he was a phony. So they cuffed him and hauled him in.

“Since then he’s been bonded out on a $25,000 bond and he got out of our jail around 2p.m. this afternoon,” said Bauman.
